So....this is my FIRST blog. It will probably read like one too.
I don't know for sure what I'll blog about but I'm going to try to make a point of it every day....OK, I just laughed out loud.....maybe once a week.
Two reasons for this new, uncharted territory of blogging for me to strike out into are:
A) I have to get a larger audience interested in my work. I'm an artist and a damn good one too and I think I produce some pretty nice work that I love to "create". So I would like more people to see it!
B) I hope to inspire myself and/or others with this and I hope to discover something new about myself.
(hmmmm, that's three reasons)
I have a major concern about myself as an artist though that I would love to know why I have.
(and I think of this OFTEN)
I read and hear other artists comments about themselves, what makes them create work the way they do or how they arrive at the finished piece of work. Some seem rather precocious, wordy, and a bit ostentatious. Others seem to refer to their worldly place on this earth, time, space, and how they meld with our universe to arrive at a place in their mind that allows them to create. Wait....what?
Am I missing what the UNIVERSE has to do with a piece of art?
How does (and this is especially directed to the creators of abstract) it fit into the mindset of an artist?
I consider myself an abstract/realist painter, by MY definition, someone that looks at a subject matter and re-creates it in a manner to manipulate a little differently than what our eyes and minds typically see it as.
I simply paint what I like. And it changes often. I typically have a draw towards the male figure (the human body is a masterpiece in itself I think), and floral images. I love the use of color but sometimes shades of gray, whites, and blacks are all I need.
I don't know if this is an "about" I can use...or whether or not I have to come up with some strange and philosophical reason I put brush to canvas.
In the meantime, I am trying to broaden my artistic endeavor and dive into the world of abstract creativity. I will be posting my work here, on my Facebook page, and my website that I welcome you to visit.
I look forward to reading your comments, if you have any.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Be Well,
Take care,
Hugs and ki.........no, not yet. :-)
